Lorem Ipsum Generator — Classic or a Little Ridiculous

A design mockup needs text in the layout before real copy is ready, and actual sentences are distracting — they pull the eye and make you judge the writing instead of the design. That's the entire reason Lorem Ipsum exists: scrambled, meaningless Latin that looks like real text at a glance without saying anything a reviewer might get hung up on. This generator makes the classic version, plus an original "Funny Ipsum" alternative for mockups that could use a bit of personality instead of dead-serious Latin.

Generate However You Need It

Some layouts need a specific number of paragraphs; others need an exact word count to test how a text box handles overflow. The "Generate by" dropdown covers both — paragraphs, sentences, or an exact word count — so you're not stuck manually trimming output to fit.

Why "Funny Ipsum" Exists

Classic Lorem Ipsum is deliberately dull — that's the point, so no one reads it as real content. But for a casual project, a fun internal mockup, or anyone who's mildly tired of staring at the same Cicero-derived Latin everyone else uses, the Funny Ipsum tab generates original nonsense text built from a different, sillier word bank. Same placeholder function, less "ancient Roman legal textbook" energy.

A Note on "Lorem Ipsum in German" Searches

If you've searched for a lorem ipsum generator in German (Deutsch), it's worth knowing that Lorem Ipsum itself has always been Latin-derived scrambled text, regardless of the website's interface language — there isn't a separate "German version" of the actual placeholder text. What varies between sites is just the language of the buttons and labels around it. This tool's output works the same way for any audience, since the placeholder text itself was never meant to be read as any particular language.

FAQs

Is this Lorem Ipsum generator free to use? Yes, completely free with no sign-up required.

Is any of my data uploaded or stored? No — all text is generated locally in your browser.

What's the difference between Classic and Funny Ipsum? Classic uses the traditional Latin-derived word bank everyone recognizes. Funny Ipsum uses an original, lighter word bank for a less formal placeholder feel — same purpose, different personality.

Can I generate an exact word count instead of paragraphs? Yes — switch "Generate by" to "Word count" and enter the number of words you need.

Why does real Lorem Ipsum text not make grammatical sense? It's deliberately scrambled from a classical Latin source so it reads as text-shaped without being readable or distracting — that's the whole point of placeholder text.

Does it work on mobile devices? Yes, it's fully responsive and works the same way on any mobile browser.
